Storytelling for Leadership and Influence

  • Collective Impact Center 3295 Meade Avenue San Diego, CA, 92116 United States (map)

Storytelling is a powerful tool for communicating a vision and connecting to an audience. It can help the listener understand the world from the speaker's point of view and express an emotion that isn't always easy to explain. By using stories to share a vision or exprience, you can tap into the human psyche and create an emotional response in your audience that isn't possible with any other medium.

This workshop will be a crash course in storytelling. Participants will learn what stories they can share to communicate their vision and how they can express those stories in a way that will resonance with their audience. We’ll go over the basics elements of a story, why each element is important and how they can be applied to our own stories. The stories crafted in this workshop can be used in public speaking, writing, pitches, promotion or even casual conversation.

The focus will be on storytelling for entrepreneurs, public speakers, or anybody in a leadership position; but the concepts we'll talk about in the workshop can be helpful to anybody who wants to get better at storytelling as a form of communication.
