This workshop is designed to help scientists better communicate the impact and importance of their work through storytelling. Scientists need a tool such as storytelling to better communicate their work to a diverse audience of scientists and “non-scientists” alike..
In this workshop/lunch discussion we’ll talk about how to create direction in your stories, the benefit this has in inspiring your audience and how you can apply this idea to your daily life. Be sure to bring something to write with.
Storytelling for Science is a workshop to train SDSU science students and faculty to effectively communicate their scientific research to a broader, “non-scientist” audience through storytelling. The workshop will begin with a discussion of the potential stories that could be told around science and then walk participants through the process of crafting stories from their own experiences.
