Story Share: Relationships

  • ChuckAlek Beirgarten 3139 University Ave Suite B San Diego, CA 92104 (map)

Sharing our stories is a community building experience. By sharing stories with each other we develop a closer bond of understanding with other people and also a better understanding of ourselves.

This is a participatory storytelling event we’re doing in partnership with our sister organization, The New Narrative. Everybody will get a quick primer on storytelling, then we’ll split into groups and share our stories with each other on the theme of Relationships. Prompts will be provided to help get you started like, “Tell us about a time you felt appreciated,” or “Tell us about a time you were ready to move on.” It might be intimidating at first, but trust us, humans are hardwired for this. You’ll catch on fast. ;)

The event is open for all! Come alone or with friends. We’ll switch groups a couple times to give everybody a chance to hear new voices. Be ready to be grouped with new people too.

Food is available for purchase from Tostadas. Drinks (including non-alcoholic options) are available for purchase from ChuckAlek Biergarten.

This will be the inaugural Story Share event. It’s intended as a monthly complement to the large New Narrative storytelling events held periodically at Bread & Salt. The hope is that by sharing our own stories we build a community, learning to understand each other, and find ways to create a more equitable, compassionate and sustainable world for all.
