Storytelling for Nonprofits
Nonprofits professionals wear a lot of hats. They will be involved in marketing, and program management, and many get involved with development. THe challenge of nonprofits is the value of the organization isn’t measured by a simple profits/loss metric, it needs to be expressed by the work they do and the good they create in the community. It’s a much more nuanced and idea and requires a special tool to make that happen.
Storytelling can be a powerful tool for any realm of the nonprofit professional world. Development professionals can use it to explain the important work they do as they pitch for more funding, program managers can use storytelling to better communicate with the populations they work with. Marketing/outreach folks can use storytelling to express the importance of the work they do to the wider public.
The stories can be used by development staff in fundraising, leadership in inspiring employees, program managers in relating their successes and all staff in better understanding how to communicate themselves and relate to one another.
This workshop will enable participants to better identify potential stories in the work they do and more effectively relate their own stories in the future. Workshops can also be tailored to the specific needs of the client.
